I'm a huge fan (and supporter) of National Public Radio. You know, the sort of dedicated listener who won't turn it off even during the fund drive. I heard this story, too! I LOVED it! My parents and grandparents were/are canners, knitters, quilters, fruit dehydrators and this story made me realize how much we all have in common here in America. No one can claim to have done it first, better, or last and we all have things to learn from our neighbors.
