So this is the finished product:
I'm very, very happy with the way this hat turned out...but I'm not so sure the average viewer would realize that the cable pattern is, indeed, an owl pattern. (Look closely.) Never the less it looks just lovely and the wearer will be suitably pleased.
Now to wrap it up and skitter off to see the recipient!
